Sopore: As part of the ongoing celebrations commemorating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Sopore Police today organised a Debate Competition at SRM Welkin Higher Secondary School, Sopore on the theme “Formation of Indian Bureaucracy and the Contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel – The Iron Man of India.”
Students from various classes participated and spoke on Sardar Patel’s monumental role in unifying India and establishing a strong, efficient administrative framework for the nation.
SSP Sopore, who was the Chief Guest, interacted with the participants and appreciated their confidence, articulation, and depth of understanding. He encouraged the students to remain informed, responsible, and actively involved in nation-building activities. Trophies and mementos were distributed among the winners and other participants.
The Jury for the event consisted of faculty members from Government Degree College Sopore, who evaluated the performances and shared insightful feedback with the students.
Sopore Police reiterated that such initiatives aim to inspire youth, promote civic awareness, and strengthen community engagement. Celebratory programmes in honour of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s legacy will continue across Police District Sopore.
