Anantnag, July 12: A 24-year-old labourer died after being hit by a shooting stone near Chandanwari in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday, officials said.
An official told that the labourer sustained critical injuries after a shooting stone struck him near Chandanwari. He was immediately rushed to the Base Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The deceased was identified as Shabir Ahmad Shah (24), son of Mohammad Yaseen Shah, a resident of Cheerward, Mattan in Anantnag. He was working as a labourer to assist Amarnath Yatra pilgrims.
The official said the body was later shifted to Pahalgam Hospital for medico-legal formalities. Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further proceedings.—(KNO)
