Budgam: The Magam Bar Association in central Kashmir’s Budgam on Thursday alleged discrimination and lack of transparency in the recently declared results of the KCS Judicial Examination, raising serious concerns over the evaluation process.
Addressing a press conference in Magam, President of the Bar Association Sheikh Ashfaq Rasool, accompanied by several lawyers, claimed that candidates belonging to Kashmir were subjected to unfair evaluation in the examination.
He said that a substantial number of candidates from the Valley had successfully qualified the Preliminary examination, but only 13 candidates from Kashmir were shortlisted for interviews following the declaration of the Mains results. He said the sharp disparity has raised serious doubts about the fairness and transparency of the assessment process.
Terming the outcome highly questionable and unjust, Sheikh Ashfaq Rasool said such disproportionate selection reflects serious flaws in the examination system. He alleged that the process lacked transparency and failed to inspire confidence among judicial aspirants from the region.
The Bar Association President demanded complete transparency in the results, including the publication of marks obtained by all candidates. He also called for an independent and impartial inquiry into the evaluation process to ensure fairness and accountability.
He warned that unless these demands are addressed, the credibility of the judicial recruitment process would remain under serious question and could undermine the trust of aspirants in the system. [KNT]
