Baramulla, July 20: In a major success against militancy, a joint team of security forces recovered a large cache of war-like stores from the Kandi forest area of Baramulla during a massive search operation on Sunday.
According to officials, the operation was launched on July 20, 2026, after the Baramulla Police received specific intelligence about war-like stores allegedly hidden in the Kandi forests.
During the search, the joint team recovered 02 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), 02 pistols, and 530 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition concealed in the dense forest area.
Security officials said the recovery has dealt a significant blow to attempts aimed at disrupting peace in the region, while search operations and area domination continue in the surrounding forests.
