Bandipora, June 02: As part of the environment’s carnival Wular conservation management authority in collaboration with the forest department organized a boat race in Asia’s second largest freshwater lake Wular on Sunday.
The boat race was aimed to raise awareness in local villagers who live on the banks of Wular to keep it neat and clean.
Speaking with the media, District forest officer Bandipora Waseem Farooq said that the race aims to raise awareness in local peoples who lives on the banks of to keep
He also said that by involving the local fisherman community these programmes will help them to achieve the target of awareness regarding the environment and saving lakes.
The event was part of a four day environment carnival inaugurated yesterday in Bandipora with the aim to raise awareness about environment land and water sources in the Bandipora district.
The event was concluded by the prize distribution in local participants who held first, second position in the boat race.
