Poonch, July 18: Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police have achieved a major success by killing four militants in Surankote area of Poonch district today.
The operation is still in progress and security forces are sanitising the area.
Giving details about ‘Operation Trinetra II’, Army said, “In a major Cordon and Search Operation, acting on specific intelligence four terrorists were eliminated in a Joint Operation by #IndianArmy & @JKP near Sindarah and Maidana villages in tehsil Surankote of Poonch district. Along with the terrorists four AK 47 , two Pistols & other war like stores were also recovered.”
Army further said that elimination of these terrorists has avoided major terrorist initiated incidents in Rajouri & Poonch areas.
Search operations are still in progress.
