Srinagar, July 18: After performing annual Haj pilgrimage in Makkah and spending over a week in Madinah, the first batch of 630 haj pilgrims arrived in Srinagar today.
These pilgrims landed in two flights from Jeddah International airport.
These pilgrims were welcomed by officials of J&K Haj committee and relatives of these pilgrims had arrived in huge numbers and welcomed their pilgrims.
This year more than two million pilgrims from all over the world performed Haj and around 1.75 lakh Hajis from India performed the pilgrimage.
To ensure smooth conduct of pilgrimage and support pilgrims in the twin cities of Makkah and Madinah, Haj committee of India also send Khuddam (helpers) and This year also Khuddam were sent for the sama purpose.
