Srinagar: A 18 year old youth drowned in the river Jehum near old bridge Sumbal in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday afternoon.
An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that a youth drowned while taking a bath in the river Jhelum in Sumbal.
He has been identified as Huzaif Ahmed Shah son of Hilal Ahmed Shah resident of Naniara Sumbal.
He said that soon after the drowning incident, locals, police and SDRF reached the spot and efforts are on to rescue the boy.
Meanwhile police have taken cognizance and started investigation.(KS)
