Traffic police issues advisory after Chawal bridge on Jammu-Pathankote national highway damage

Jammu : Dear residents and passengers of Kathua. Due to the recent and continuous heavy rains in the area, we are sorry to inform you that the Chadwal bridge has been damaged. In consequence, this creates a potential threat to all vehicles and pedestrians trying to cross it.

Considering this situation, the Kathua Police asks you for maximum cooperation to ensure the safety of all during this period. We urge you to follow the following traffic advisory measures:-

1) Avoid crossing damaged bridge:- We strongly advise all motorists and pedestrians to avoid using Chadwal bridge until necessary repairs are completed. Please find alternative routes to your destinations.

2) Follow diversion and signage:- Follow diversion & temporary routes made by Kathua police. These routes are designed to facilitate smooth traffic flow and reduce discomfort.

3) Patience and caution:- Due to the closure of the bridge, there may be traffic crowd in some areas. We ask for your patience during this time and drive carefully while keeping in mind the safety of fellow passengers and pedestrians.

4) Follow traffic rules:- strictly follow all traffic rules and regulations. Avoid fast speed, careless driving etc.

5) Report suspicious activities:- If you see any suspicious activities on the roads or encounter potential threats, please inform the nearest police station immediately.

6) Be informed:- Keep yourself updated with the latest traffic advice and announcements.

We understand that this situation may be inconvenience, but your safety is our top priority.
