New Delhi: In a significant development underscoring a shift in political sentiment in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that three more separatist organizations — Jammu Kashmir Islamic Political Party, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Democratic League, and Kashmir Freedom Front — have officially severed ties with the Hurriyat Conference.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Amit Shah wrote,
“Three more organizations, namely Jammu Kashmir Islamic Political Party, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Democratic League, and Kashmir Freedom Front, disassociate themselves from the Hurriyat. It is a prominent demonstration of the people’s trust in the Constitution of India within the valley.”
He further emphasized that this move marks growing trust among the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the democratic framework and unity of the nation.
“Modi Ji’s vision for a united and powerful Bharat stands even more bolstered today, as so far 11 such organizations have shunned separatism, proclaiming unwavering support for it,” Shah added.
The development is being viewed as another milestone in the government’s ongoing efforts to integrate Jammu and Kashmir more deeply into the Indian mainstream, both politically and socially.
Analysts believe this trend could significantly alter the separatist narrative in the region and open new doors for dialogue, development, and peace-building.
