Sopore: Sopore Police today organised an awareness programme at Dak Bungalow Sopore, bringing together students from various schools and colleges, parents, teachers, religious leaders, and members of civil society to address the pressing issues of drug abuse and social crimes.
The programme aimed to raise awareness among youth and parents while also emphasising the critical role of religious leaders in guiding society against these threats. Speakers highlighted the destructive impact of drug abuse and related crimes on families and communities, and called for joint responsibility from all stakeholders to counter this menace.
Religious scholars, while addressing the gathering, urged students and parents to adopt a disciplined life, build strong social values, and remain away from the trap of drug abuse and other social crimes. They underlined the importance of collective responsibility in shaping a healthier and safer future for the next generation.
Sopore Police reiterated its zero-tolerance stance against narcotics and social crimes, while reaffirming its commitment to combine enforcement with community outreach and awareness campaigns.
