Uri 13 Aug. In a significant political development, Altaf Saleem Khan, a prominent political and social worker from Uri, is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with thousands of workers from the Pahari community.
Sources close to the development have revealed that the BJP has decided to give Khan a mandate in the upcoming Assembly elections. Khan, a well-known poltical figur from Uri, is expected to formally join the party after August 15.
Khan’s political journey began as a teacher, but he resigned to join hands with Shah Faisal, a former IAS officer. He later became a senior leader in the Aam Admi Party.
This move is seen as a major boost for the BJP in the region, with Khan’s influence and popularity ex pected to bring in a significant number of votes.
