AEE Beerwah Bashir Ahmed Khuttay Appeals Consumers of PDD Sub-Division Beerwah to Avail Amnesty Scheme
Budgam: Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Beerwah Bashir Ahmed Khuttay has appealed to all electricity consumers of the Power Development Department (PDD), Sub-Division Beerwah, to come forward and take maximum advantage of the ongoing Amnesty Scheme introduced by the department.
AEE Beerwah Bashir Khuttay urged consumers who have pending electricity dues to utilize this opportunity to clear their outstanding bills under the scheme. He stated that the Amnesty Scheme has been launched in the larger public interest with the objective of providing substantial financial relief to consumers and facilitating the regularization of electricity connections. The scheme offers a one-time opportunity to resolve long-pending dues and avoid additional financial burden.
Responding to a query by a reporter regarding the recent disconnection of a large number of electricity connections in the Beerwah area, AEE Beerwah clarified that such actions were necessitated due to the non-payment of electricity bills by consumers over a prolonged period. He emphasized that timely fee collection is essential for the smooth functioning of the department and for maintaining uninterrupted power supply.
He reiterated his appeal to the public to take full benefit of the Amnesty Scheme and clear their pending dues at the earliest. “People should avail the benefits of this scheme. One can already see a positive response, as many consumers are coming forward to pay their pending fees,” he said.
AEE Beerwah Khuttay further added that timely participation in the scheme will help consumers avoid future penalties, disconnections, and legal complications. He noted that improved revenue realization will also contribute to strengthening the power infrastructure and ensuring better and more reliable electricity services in the Beerwah area.
