Budgam: Under the flagship youth initiative Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), a Cluster of Blocks Level Sports Programme was successfully organised today in collaboration with Shaheen Youth Club, Chewdara, at Syed Ali Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Sciences (SAM College), Beerwah. The programme aimed at promoting physical fitness, sportsmanship, and active participation of youth at the grassroots level.
The event was organised by Mera Yuva Bharat, Budgam, under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and was closely aligned with the objectives of the Fit India Movement. It was held under the inspiring theme “Swasth Rashtra – Samridh Rashtra”, reflecting the national vision of building a healthy, disciplined, and empowered youth population.
The programme was graced by SI Bashir Ahmed Rather, Incharge Police Station Beerwah, who attended the event as the Chief Guest. ZPEO Beerwah, and Syed Murtaza Bukhari, prominent social activist Muzamil Mehmood, and staff members of Syed Ali Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Sciences were also present on the occasion and encouraged the participating youth.
A large number of young participants from different blocks took part enthusiastically in various sports activities, including Volleyball, Tug of War, Badminton, and other youth-oriented games. The participants showcased remarkable energy, teamwork, discipline, and a strong competitive spirit, creating a vibrant and motivating atmosphere throughout the event.
Addressing the gathering, the ZPEO Beerwah appreciated the role of Mera Yuva Bharat in engaging youth through constructive and healthy activities. He emphasized that sports play a vital role in character building, leadership development, and fostering discipline among young people, and such programmes significantly contribute to the overall development of society.
Another youth participant, while sharing his views, stated that sports are essential for maintaining physical fitness and mental well-being, especially in today’s fast-paced lifestyle. He highlighted that regular participation in sports keeps youth away from negative influences and helps channel their energy in a positive direction.
Speakers also underlined that block-level sports programmes are crucial for identifying local talent, strengthening community bonds, and promoting unity among youth. Emphasis was laid on making sports an integral part of daily life to combat lifestyle-related health challenges.
The organisers reiterated their commitment to expanding youth-centric initiatives across the district, ensuring inclusive participation and equal opportunities for all sections of society. They stated that Mera Yuva Bharat continues to serve as a strong platform for youth empowerment, nation-building, and social development.
The programme concluded with a felicitation ceremony, during which outstanding performers and winning teams were honoured for their achievements. Participants and local residents appreciated the initiative and expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Mera Yuva Bharat Budgam for organising such a meaningful and motivating event.
The successful conduct of the programme reaffirmed the government’s resolve to nurture a fit, active, and responsible youth, contributing towards the vision of a stronger and more prosperous India.
