Ramban: A lawyer was killed while two others, including a school-going child, were injured after a truck overturned and hit a car in Seri area of Ramban district on Friday morning.
Reports said the truck, which was carrying two school children, lost control and turned turtle, crushing a car driven by the lawyer. The victim, who was alone in the vehicle, died on the spot. His identity is being ascertained, police said.
One of the school children traveling in the truck sustained minor injuries, while the truck driver also received superficial wounds. Both have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police have taken cognizance of the accident and initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the mishap. The damaged vehicles were later removed from the road to restore traffic movement on the busy highway stretch. [KNT]
