Budgam: Large gatherings and Quds Day rallies were held across several parts of Kashmir on the occasion of Jumat-ul-Wida and International Quds Day, with thousands of people participating to express solidarity with the people of Palestine. The largest gathering was held at the Central Imambara Budgam, where thousands of people offered Friday prayers led by Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, President of Anjuman Sharie Shian Jammu and Kashmir. Following the prayers, a large Quds procession was taken out under his leadership. The peaceful rally passed through various streets of Budgam town and concluded near the Old Bus Stand.

During the procession, participants raised slogans in support of Palestine and Iran. Many people were seen carrying Iranian flags and pictures of Iranian leaders. Eyewitnesses said thousands of mourners took part in the peaceful march as it moved through the streets towards the main square of Budgam.

Addressing the gathering, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi said that Jumat-ul-Wida is not only a religious occasion but also a day to renew the commitment of the Muslim Ummah towards unity, awareness, and support for oppressed nations. He noted that Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, had proclaimed International Quds Day to remind Muslims worldwide of their collective responsibility toward the liberation of Palestine and the protection of Jerusalem.

Referring to the current global situation, he said that the Iran has shown resilience and determination in the face of what he described as joint aggression by the United States and Israel, adding that the unity and support of the Iranian people remain the country’s greatest strength.

Meanwhile, in the Magam area of Budgam, Member of the Legislative Assembly Agha Syed Muntazir Mehdi addressed a gathering and demanded the immediate release of mourners who were reportedly detained. He said the people had assembled peacefully and urged the administration to release those taken into custody without delay.

Similar Quds Day gatherings and rallies were also held in several other areas across Kashmir, including Hasanabad Srinagar, Yagipora Magam, Chadoora, Sathsoo Kalan, Nowgam Sonawari, Sonapah Beerwah, Inderkote Sumbal, Chattergam, Sofi Pora Pahalgam, and Wakharwan Pulwama, where large numbers of people participated to express solidarity with Palestine.

In Hasanabad Srinagar, thousands of worshippers offered Friday prayers at the historic Hasanabad Imambara Srinagar, led by Agha Syed Mujtaba Abbas Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi. After the prayers, a large Quds Day rally was organized in which speakers highlighted the significance of the day as a symbol of global awareness against injustice and support for oppressed nations.

Speakers at various gatherings emphasized the need for unity among the Muslim Ummah and reiterated their support for the Palestinian people while calling for justice and peace in the region.
