Budgam 9 Dec :The Kashmir Welfare Centre Beerwah successfully organized a significant and thought-provoking Interfaith Conference at Apna Ghar Beerwah on the theme “God, Peace and Love.” The gathering brought together prominent personalities, religious scholars, educationists, media members, and social activists to encourage unity, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence among diverse communities.

Several respected educationists and community figures also participated, stressing the urgent need for interfaith dialogue in strengthening communal harmony and understanding.
In his address, Dr. Mohammad Shafi appreciated the initiative of the Kashmir Welfare Centre, stating that such platforms are essential for preserving Kashmir’s rich heritage of brotherhood and shared culture. He emphasised that peace and compassion form the foundation of every religion, and society must work collectively to uphold these values.
Poet and social activist Mohidin Muntazir highlighted the emotional and cultural importance of unity in the region. He stated that Kashmir has always stood as a symbol of coexistence, and events like these remind people of their shared responsibility in maintaining peace and rejecting divisive narratives.
The conference featured detailed and enlightening speeches by religious scholars representing different faiths. They underlined universal principles common to all religions—kindness, empathy, respect for human life, and service to humanity. The scholars encouraged the audience to reject discrimination, hatred, and prejudice, and instead embrace understanding and dialogue as tools for building a stronger society.
Another religious scholar, while addressing the gathering, remarked, “Every faith teaches us to love one another, to respect differences, and to stand for truth and humanity. No scripture promotes hostility; we, as followers, must ensure that peace becomes our collective identity. If we practise genuine compassion, the world around us naturally becomes more harmonious.” His message deeply resonated with the attendees, reinforcing the purpose of the event.
As part of the programme, the organizers presented Appreciation Certificates to media personnel, scholars, and social contributors in acknowledgment of their ongoing efforts toward promoting interfaith harmony and community welfare. The gesture served as recognition of their dedication and encouraged further contributions toward peace-building initiatives.
