Bandipora: In preparation for the forthcoming Republic Day–2026 celebrations, a Joint Security Review Meeting was convened on Thursday at the Conference Hall, District Police Lines (DPL), Bandipora. The meeting was chaired by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bandipora, Shri Ajaz Ahmed Zargar, JKPS, to review the overall security scenario of the district and fine-tune arrangements for the national event.
The meeting was attended by the Commanding Officers of 3rd Battalion CRPF, 45 Battalion CRPF, 14 Rashtriya Rifles, 13 Rashtriya Rifles, 27 Assam Rifles, along with officers from other sister security agencies. Additional Superintendent of Police, Bandipora, and senior officers from the District Police, Bandipora, were also present.
During the deliberations, a comprehensive discussion was held on the prevailing security situation in the district. Key focus areas included deployment strategies, securing vulnerable and sensitive locations, intelligence sharing, and strengthening coordination mechanisms among all security forces in the lead-up to Republic Day.
Emphasising the importance of heightened alertness, SSP Bandipora stressed maintaining enhanced vigil, intensifying area domination, and ensuring seamless synergy among all stakeholders. He underscored that coordinated efforts and proactive measures are essential for the peaceful, safe, and smooth conduct of Republic Day celebrations across the district.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of collective commitment by all participating agencies to maintain robust security and uphold peace and public safety during the national celebrations.
