PWWA members played big part in shaping the future of Police Schools and Police Hospitals: DGP J&K

Srinagar, October 29: Jammu and Kashmir Police Public School Bemina, Srinagar celebrated its 4th Annual Day at Tagore Hall Srinagar today. Shri Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to Hon’ble Lt Governor J&K was the Chief Guest and Director General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.

The function was attended by ADGP Armed J&K SJM Gillani, Dr. Rubinder Kaur, Chairperson (PWWA/PPS), DIG CKR Shri Sujit Kumar, DC Srinagar, SSP Srinagar, senior PWWA members and a galaxy of senior serving and retired police officers. Besides, parents, staff members, Students of School were present on the occasion.

The Chief Guest Shri R R Bhatnagar while speaking on the occasion said that it was a good opportunity to spend quality time with the talented students and witnessing the impressive function of the school. He appreciated the school management & staff for providing quality education. He lauded the energy, excitement and talent of the participating students and added that he really feels proud of the level of education being imparted. ‘I believe the children are as good in extracurricular, sports and academics as they were in today’s function’, Shri Bhatnagar added. It is a good thing for students they are getting an opportunity to hone their skills and talent in such functions which would help them to achieve bigger platforms in life.He said that whole function was organized with excitement and sentiments like that of one family.

He adviced teachers to impart quality education to the students and fulfill the great responsibility of teaching children who are the future of the Country and of the UT. He advised teachers to hone students with problem solving skills, speech skills, multiple media skills, critical & analytical thinking which is very important to boost the confidence of the students. Shri Bhatnagar said all possible assistance would be provided for the infrastructure and development of the School.

Speaking on the occasion the DGP complimented the Principal and her team and students of the school for presenting an excellent colourful programme. He expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Advisor for taking time from his busy schedule to grace the occasion. He said that organising such functions is not only a medium of entertainment but such programmes encourage children and boost their morale as well as of their parents who are always thrilled to watch their children performing on the stage. He said that performing on a stage needs courage and it was a proud moment for all of us that our school students were performing on the stage. He hoped that these students will find much bigger stage in their lives and they will get famous in the world and make us, and parents proud.

He said that the journey of Police Public Schools which started from one room in District Police Lines Jammu has reached great heights with its branches in seven districts across the J&K. He said that it is just a beginning, J&K Police has much more plans to execute for upgrading these schools, adding that the PPS Bemina would soon have its own auditorium.

“With today’s programme children have given a memorable farewell to me and to chairperson PWWA/PPS,” the DGP said. He said that he feels proud that chairperson PWWA and its members have played a very big part in shaping the future of Police Schools and Police Hospitals. He said that a school can be a building but it can’t be a center of education which is impossible without hard work. For that he expressed gratitude to the PWWA whose efforts are behind the success of Police Public Schools. He said that it feels satisfactory that children are going to schools everyday and gone are the days when school remains locked maximum time. He prayed for the bright future of the students and said that wherever they make a name for themselves they will make JKP proud. He said that J&K Police is your own Police that is working for people, for their safety and works with people & with their support. He appreciated the support of people for Jammu and Kashmir. He congratulated all the winners in academic and extracurricular activities.

Dr Rubinder Kaur Chairperson Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA), J&K addressing on the occasion said that out of seven Police public schools across the UT five are affiliated State Board of School Education while Police Public Schools at Jammu & Srinagar are affiliated with Central Board of School Education (CBSE). She said that with the unwavering support of teachers, parents and management, Police Public Schools have achieved great heights be it in Academics or curricular activities. On the occasion Chairperson PWWA presented the innovative annual academic report for the session 2022-23.

On the occasion prize distribution function was held in which the student achievers of the school were felicitated.
