Ganderbal, 01 June: The Cyber Cell in Ganderbal has successfully tackled online money scams, leading to the recovery of lakhs worth of smartphones and the restoration of hacked social media accounts.
In a commendable effort, the Cyber Cell not only prevented fraudulent transactions worth Rs. 6,20,000 but also ensured a refund of Rs. 39,900 to a victim’s account.
Additionally, they recovered 16 stolen or lost smartphones and restored access to six compromised social media accounts.
This achievement highlights the dedication of the Cyber Cell team in combating cybercrime and protecting citizens from financial and social media fraud.
They are equipped to handle various online scams like KYC update fraud, OLX fraud, fake loan app fraud, and social media blackmailing.
To safeguard yourself online, the J&K Police District Ganderbal urges citizens to refrain from sharing personal details like bank information, account details, and OTPs.
