Srinagar, March 27: Authorities in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district have taken action against a double agent suspected of providing false information to security agencies. The individual, identified as Aazam Shah, son of Ghulam Hussain Shah and resident of Pingla Haridal, was allegedly involved in the fabrication of counterfeit substances resembling heroin.
According to an official statement, the Police Station Karnah received credible intelligence indicating that Shah was utilizing urea fertilizer, Nishashat, and white cosmetic powder to produce a substance resembling Brown Sugar. It is believed that Shah was providing erroneous information to security agencies, potentially leading to the wrongful implication of innocent individuals.
In response, FIR No. 14/2024 under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against Shah at Police Station Karnah, and an investigation has been initiated.
Authorities conducted a search of Shah’s premises, during which they seized incriminating materials, including urea fertilizer, starch powder, and white cosmetic powder. Additionally, Shah’s cell phone has been confiscated for further analysis by experts.
The investigation into this matter remains ongoing as authorities work to ascertain the full extent of Shah’s activities and any potential accomplices.
