Bandipora, June 26: Within 24 hours after a sister died while trying to save her brother from drowning in Bandipora district, brother has also lost his battle of survival in Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Srinagar.
According to relatives, the boy Nazakat was shifted to SKIMS for specialized treatment after he was rescued from river Jhelum yesterday but he succumbed to his injuries this morning.
On Sunday Nazakat while taking bath in river Jhelum drowned in Shatulpora village in Sumbal area of Bandipora district and his sister Nuzhat had jumped into the river to save him but drowned and her body was retrieved later on.
Her valiant effort became talk of the town and apart from condolence to the family, people praised the selfless act of Nuzhat without caring for her life.
Now, when everyone was praying for the recovery of her brother, Nazakat has also lost his life.
