Bandipora, 14 April: A double-storey residential house got damaged in a fire incident in Tergam village of Sumbal area in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district late last night, officials said on Sunday morning.
An official told that fire broke out in the two-storey house on late last night belonging to Ghulam Hassan Teli Son in law Abdul Raheem Bhat a resident of Teli Mahalah Tergam area in Sumbal Bandipora.
He said that fire tenders were dispatched, however, by the time they reached the spot, double-story residential house was partially damaged in the fire mishap.
An official from the Fire and Emergency department confirmed that the timely response by the Fire Services Station in Sumbal prevented the flames from spreading to surrounding properties, saving assets worth crores of rupees.
The cause of fire is being ascertained and no loss of life or any other injury has been reported in the incident,” he added
Meanwhile Police have been taken cognizance in the incident and investigation into the incident has been initiated
