Bandipora, August 6: Waseem Ahmed Bhat, a soldier from Dachigam area of Bandipora was laid to rest with full military honours in his native village.
Bhat was killed during an encounter with militants in Halan forests of Kulgam district.
His death has brought a pale of gloom in his village and adjoining areas.
He was one of the three soldiers injured in the encounter and later on succumbed to his injuries in 92 Base hospital in Srinagar.
Hundreds of local people besides officials of security forces were present to pay last respect to the soldier.
He has left behind his pregnant wife and other family members. He had last visited his home on Eid and every one in the family remembered his joyful nature.
