Bandipora, Dec 18:- The residents of Dard gund village of North Kashmir ‘s Bandipora district appealed to authorities to provide them compensation for their land taken by the PMGSY department to construct a road to the area.
Local residents while speaking with the media said that the landowners were promised that they will be compensated when the Chandaji- Dardgund road was built for their land but after passing five years the poor peoples are waiting for the compensation.
“After around six demarcations the authorities are still in a process of demarcation. We cut our apple trees when this was built but now we are receiving the fruit of that by going door to door of officials,” one of the land owners said.
Another land owner said that they have requested several times to authorities to compensate them early but nothing positive happens after passing five years.
The land owners now appealed to deputy commissioner Bandipora for personal intervention and to resolve their genuine demands.
