Budgam, Oct 29:Apni Party candidate Mukther Ahmad Dar has strongly criticized the National Conference (NC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), saying that the time has come to end the era of political dynasties in Jammu and Kashmir.

“People are tired — whether it is the NC or the PDP, the public has suffered under both these parties,” Dar said while addressing a public meeting in Budgam.

He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are struggling even for basic amenities such as drinking water and electricity, yet both NC and PDP have completely failed to deliver on their promises. “Our party belongs to the people, not to any family. We want Kashmiri youth to lead and shape their own future,” he added.

Dar further alleged that during previous elections, both NC and PDP only focused on strengthening their own parties and families, not serving the people. “It is now clear that NC and PDP act as the ‘B-Team’ of the BJP. They speak one language in Kashmir and another in Delhi. The people have now realized who has betrayed them,” he said.

The Apni Party candidate also accused the NC leadership of deceiving the people with hollow promises. “NC had pledged 12 gas cylinders, one lakh government jobs, and 200 units of free electricity in its manifesto, but none of these promises were ever fulfilled,” he said.

He went on to say that PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti has prepared her daughter for politics, while NC leader Omar Abdullah is grooming his son for the same. “This clearly shows that common people are being deprived of the opportunity to contest elections in Jammu and Kashmir,” Dar remarked.

Dar expressed regret that politics in J&K has turned into a family affair, where leadership is passed from one generation to another. “This is not democracy; it’s a family business that has silenced the voice of the common man,” he said.

He urged the people to recognize how dynasty politics has weakened the democratic spirit of Jammu and Kashmir. “The people must now rise above family-driven politics and choose leaders who are honest, capable, and dedicated to public service,” Dar stated.

Concluding his address, Mukther Ahmad Dar said the Apni Party represents a new political vision focused on transparency, equality, and the empowerment of youth. “Our mission is to bring real change — to give power back to the people and ensure a future where every Kashmiri has a voice,” he affirmed.
