Srinagar: Aga Mehmood is likely to be the National Conference candidate from Budgam, sources said on Sunday.
According to insiders, a meeting held yesterday at 5 PM witnessed differences over the seat. Sources said Omar Abdullah had proposed former Apni Party leader Muntazir Mohiuddin, but Dr Farooq Abdullah is learnt to have insisted on fielding a Shia candidate from the constituency.
Following the disagreement, Omar Abdullah reportedly walked out of the meeting, sources told.
Muntazir Mohiuddin had extended support to Omar Abdullah in the 2024 Assembly elections.
