Budgam: Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Budgam Assembly constituency, Deeba Khan, has appealed to the public for financial support through crowdfunding to sustain her campaign for the upcoming by-election.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Deeba Khan said that contesting elections had become a capital-intensive process, making it difficult for ordinary citizens to participate without substantial financial backing. “Elections are highly capital intensive. For a commoner like me, crowdfunding is the only way of managing election expenses,” she wrote.
She urged people to contribute voluntarily to her campaign using her shared QR code or bank account details, saying their support would enable her to continue her campaign effectively. “I seek your support to be able to continue my campaign effectively. Kindly use my QR code or contribute to my bank account,” she posted.
Deeba Khan, who is contesting as the AAP nominee in Budgam, said her campaign aims to promote transparency, accountability, and participatory governance at the grassroots level. [KNT]
