Doda, August 26: A couple was critically injured in a road accident near Bheri on Ghat-Gundna road when a vehicle, in which they were travelling, fell into a deep gorge.
Immediately after the accident, local people rushed to the spot and rescued both the injured.
They were shifted to Associated hospital of Government Medical College Doda for specialized treatment.
The injured was identified as Kamla Devi, a Female Multi Purpose Health Worker, posted at Hanch village of medical block Ghat, and her husband.
According to eye witnesses they were travelling in a Maruti Suzuki Omni Van and were returning to Bulla village of Jodhpur from Hanch when the vehicle met with the accident.
The road was constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) scheme and connects dozens of villages of Doda and Gundna tehsils of Doda district.
