Baramulla: Since the police has launched operation against drugs, there is a major task arresting kingpins who run the network and lure youth.
In this regard, Baramulla police today arrested one of the most wanted drug peddlers, Bashir Ahmed Malla of Dobiwan, Kunzer.
Giving details, police said that during a special checking at Kharkal Lolpora, Police arrested Malla, who was coming from Mamoosa towards Lolpora in a vehicle Wagon R bearing registration number DL8CQ-4861.
According to police, Malla tried to flee but was apprehended tactfully and was taken into custody immediately.
Police said that from his possession, they recovered 19.5 Kgs of contraband Poppy Straw like substance.
People have hailed the efforts of police department to eradicate this menace from the society.
