Srinagar: Security forces on Tuesday evening reported gunfire during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in the Ahrama forest area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
According to officials, a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, and CRPF launched the operation following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
During the ongoing search, brief gunshots were heard, prompting security forces to tighten the cordon. Additional reinforcements have been rushed to the site to support the operation.
Sources indicated that two militants are believed to be trapped in the area, though there has been no official confirmation so far.
