On February 21, the World Language Day is celebrated worldwide every year with the aim of promoting awareness and cultural diversity. The first time a year is to celebrate the mother tongue day by UNESCO on November 17th. It was announced in 1999 and with the approval of the UN resolution in 2002 the UN General Assembly formally recognized. The mother tongue is part of a broader move. The protection of all languages used by people around the world as the UN General Assembly adopted the UN resolution on May 16, 2007 in 61/266, which also established 2008 as an international year of languages. – The idea of celebrating World Language Day was the initiative of Bangladesh. Now on February 21, the World Language Day is celebrated around the world every year and celebrations and seminars are organized worldwide. Speakers in these ceremonies and seminars highlight the importance and utility of the mother tongue by speaking for hours on the mother tongue and swear to protect it. The importance and utility of the mother tongue are urged to take steps to come to the generations to come but if seen these steps are practically limited to the files and wait for February 21 next year. Then once again the same ceremonies and seminars are being held. The question also arises here do we restrict it to our responsibility by celebrating the World Language Day,,,? or do we work for the spread and protection of the mother tongue throughout the year? Here I only mention my own country. When we go to any state of the country we will see the people there speak in own native language but here is the opposite. All the people in Jammu speak Dogri language but the majority of Kashmir are of Kashmiri language speakers and the point of regret is that the common Kashmiris are ashamed to speak their native language while their mother tongue is read when the child is the mother. He is born with his mother who teaches his baby first language and the mother tongue that the child learns in the lap of the mother, but sadly when a mother gives birth to a baby she is a mother. Whether it is educated or illiterate she is proud to teach her child a another language in return for her language while this mother does not know anything about the pronunciation and words of the other language and thus the mother first embraces her own mother tongue. He sighs as well as other than the other language. Our new generation today neither speaks their native tongue well nor do they do justice to the other language though nowadays is the time of Competition and every parent has the desire that their children will come to the fore. It is also permissible in today’s time to know the child’s language but be careful that our children first prefer their mother tongue and the other languages later. You should enroll your child in the bigger English school, but make a habit of speaking to the child in your native language at home. It has also been observed that a child’s grandfather, grandmother, or grandparents are illiterate. and when the child speaks out of his native language in a non -language, they have a lot of difficulty in speaking and understanding this language. Want to give that child loses this love. How can we hope that our native language is safe for upcoming ugenerations? Or we will wait for the next year on February 21 that on that day we will celebrate the World Language Day with Dhoom Dham and with loud claims that we will say that we are working day and night to promote and protect the mother tongue. Are Whereas in practice and on the ground level if we have such thinking then the day is not far when we will be forced to say that our mother tongue used to be before we see this day. Let us all make a promise that we can enlighten our children with the importance and usefulness of our mother tongue and give them the synthesis of speaking in the mother tongue and to convey this language to the coming generations as well as promote it. But work in practice to ensure the protection of the mother tongue for which we are all responsible.
