From 07-04-2025, 1700 hrs. to 08-04-2025, 1700 hrs., there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to breakdown of 02 HMVs, single lane traffic at Dalwas, Peeda, Mehad, between Marog and Kishtwari Pather and due to four lane construction work.
- Traffic managed on regulated manner at Mehad, Cafeteria, Ramban on NH-44 due to single lane about 150-200 Mtrs. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline; overtaking, wrong lane driving will cause congestion. Be patient while Traffic plying from other side.
- Passengers/LMVs operators are advised to undertake journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during day time as there is apprehension of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.
- Goods carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable/live stock are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters time to time as there is single lane traffic and poor condition of road at Dalwas, Mehad and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather on Jammu Srinagar NHW .
- HMVs Operators/Owners are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. It is further requested that vehicle owners must double check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.
- HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.
- Commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary haltage between Ramban and Banihal especially near landslide/shooting stone area.
TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 09-04-2025:- - Subject to fair weather and better road conditions LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. However, HMVs (Load carrier) shall be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar after assessing the road condition. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban for road condition. Commuters are requested to check NH 44 status at J&K Traffic Police Twitter handle and face book page.
SFs Convoy Movement:
Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion because of narrow carriage way between Nashree and Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Tomorrow they may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar- Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244:-
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road is closed for vehicular movement as per Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kokernag’s advisory endstt. no. SDM/KNG/2024-25/3139-45 dated 16-01-2025 .
SSG ROAD
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from Road maintenance agencies (BRO). Only one way traffic for LMVs (Passenger/Load carriers) with Anti-skid chains from Srinagar towards Kargil shall be allowed on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road. These vehicles shall be allowed from Sonamarg upto 1130 hrs. No movement of any type of HMV will be allowed.
Mughal Road:-
Mughal Road is closed for vehicular movement as per District Magistrate Poonch’s order endstt. no. DMP/JC/7273-92 dated 18-01-2025 in view of snow accumulation.
