Traffic Police Conduct Special Enforcement Drive at Bijbehara

Anantnag: Traffic Police Anantnag on Monday conducted a special traffic enforcement drive at Main Chowk, Bijbehara, under the supervision of SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, Shri R. P. Singh, to curb major traffic violations.
The drive targeted violations including wrong parking, overloading of passengers, plying of vehicles in no-entry zones, riding without helmets, and other related offences. During the operation, a number of challans were issued and on-the-spot fines were realised from violators.

Officials said wrong parking, which has emerged as a major cause of traffic congestion in towns, was dealt with strictly. Several vehicles were challaned for illegal parking, while one matador vehicle found carrying excess passengers was seized.
Later, the SSP Traffic visited Anantnag town and inspected key traffic points, including Khanabal, KP Chowk, Bus Stand, and Lal Chowk. He directed officers to take firm action against violators while maintaining professionalism, discipline, and courteous behaviour during enforcement.
The special drive was widely appreciated by the general public, officials added.(CNS)
