New Delhi, June 17: The Congress party has decided that Rahul Gandhi will retain the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will contest from the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat. This decision was made after consultations among senior party leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, K C Venugopal, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
Rahul Gandhi had previously contested and won from both Rae Bareli and Wayanad, and he was required to vacate one of the seats within 14 days of the election result. The choice to keep Rae Bareli was influenced by its close ties to the Gandhi family. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will be making her electoral debut from Wayanad.
