Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and MLA Waheed Parra has strongly criticized the government’s decision to privatize electricity distribution in Jammu & Kashmir, calling it a betrayal of public trust.
In a post on X, Parra accused the ruling party of abandoning its promise of autonomy and gradually reducing governance to mere municipal affairs. He further alleged that despite securing an overwhelming mandate, the government is now moving towards privatizing the power sector, which he termed as an attempt to place a critical public service in corporate hands.
“Promised defiance, delivered surrender & now planning to sell our survival. Good boys,” Parra wrote, condemning the move as a direct hit to households across J&K.
