Police Arrest Three Drug Peddlers in Bandipora; Huge Quantity of Contraband Substances Recovered
Bandipor: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Bandipora Police arrested three drug peddlers in different areas of the district and recovered a substantial quantity of contraband and psychotropic substances from their possession.
During naka checking at Papachan bridge, officials from PS Bandipora apprehended one drug peddler and seized 47 bottles of Codeine Phosphate from his possession. The individual has been identified as Irshad Ahmad Wani, son of Habibullah Wani, residing in Hajin. A case FIR under the NDPS Act has been registered in PS Bandipora.
Similarly, during naka checking at Shokbaba Sumlar, another drug peddler was arrested, and 40 grams of Charas-like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Ab Rashid Sheikh, son of Sonaullaha Sheikh, residing in Arin. A case FIR under the NDPS Act has also been registered in PS Bandipora.
Meanwhile, during naka checking at Check Chandergeer, a Maruti Alto car bearing registration number JK15 C -0747 was stopped for checking. During the search, 98 bottles of Codeine Phosphate were recovered. The driver of the car disclosed his identity as Mohmad Aqib Wani, son of Gh Mohd Wani, residing in Hajin. A case FIR under the NDPS Act has been registered in PS Hajin, and the vehicle used in the commission of the crime has been seized.
