Jammu: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary Thursday said that the Omar Abdullah-led government in Jammu and Kashmir is fully empowered to take disciplinary action against erring employees.
Choudhary said that the government has suspended employees for dereliction of duties, stating that this move demonstrates the Government’s commitment to accountability.
“We are not targeting employees, but we expect them to take their responsibilities seriously, just as we do,” Choudhary told reporters in Jammu.
“There’s a clear chain of command, and we won’t tolerate laxity. The government’s stance is clear: employees must be accountable to the people,” he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister reassured that the administration prioritizes good governance, ensuring that voters and government employees are treated equally.
“We are committed to protecting people’s rights and promoting a culture of responsibility within the government,” he added. [KNT]
