Receives rousing welcome at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, addresses mega party convention

Srinagar, 19 Oct: Chief Minister J&K Omar Abdullah on Saturday said that JKNC government is committed to serving all sections of society irrespective of religion, caste, creed across Jammu and Kashmir.

Cabinet Ministers, CM’s Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, newly elected MLA’s, party leaders including Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, Rattan Lal Gupta and others attended the event.

Speaking at a party convention in Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu, Omar emphasized that the nomination of Surinder Choudhary silenced those who falsely claimed that NC would neglect the people of Jammu and that the party only represented Muslims of Kashmir.

“The reality on the ground tells a different story. We appointed a deputy chief minister from Jammu, a Hindu who is not a member of my family. This decision refutes the baseless accusations of those who sought to sow discord between the two regions. It was not a necessity to appoint a deputy chief minister from Jammu. Previous governments, due to coalition pressures, had to allocate deputy CM positions to one region or the other.
However, the current situation is different. Today, the deputy CM is from our party, demonstrating the deep commitment of the NC to the people of Jammu.”

Earlier, the Party Vice President was welcomed with great enthusiasm upon his arrival at the party’s provincial headquarters, Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan in Jammu.

He emphasized that democracy has finally been restored in Jammu and Kashmir after a prolonged period where the voices of the people were not given due attention in the corridors of power. However, he said, “Now, the voices of our people will resound in the power corridors. The government will strive to serve all sections of society, regardless of caste, creed, religion, or region. Equal development across all regions will be a top priority. The government will work tirelessly for the betterment of all, even those who did not support us at the polls.”
