Srinagar: During the blessed and spiritually uplifting days of the holy month of Ramadan, Masjid Badr-ud-Din Umar Heer in Srinagar witnessed a grand and faith-inspiring gathering as the Khatoon-e-Jannat Conference was held with great reverence and devotion.
The spiritual and reformative conference commenced after Zuhr prayers and continued until Asr, attracting a large number of men and women from Srinagar city and its adjoining areas. The mosque resonated with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an and salutations upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, creating a serene and emotionally charged Ramadan atmosphere.
The keynote address was delivered by Maulana Saleem Javed Ghazali, who began the session with the recitation of a verse from Surah Aal-e-Imran (Chapter 3 of the Holy Qur’an). In his introductory remarks, he highlighted the virtues of faith, patience, and piety, setting a spiritually enriching tone for the gathering.
The central theme of his speech focused on the noble life and character of Fatimah al-Zahra (RA), revered as the Leader of the Women of Paradise. In his eloquent and moving address, he shed light on her modesty, unwavering faith, devotion in worship, and exemplary patience. He narrated inspiring incidents from her life that left many attendees visibly moved.
Gazali emphasized how she stood firmly beside her father, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, during the challenging days in Makkah. As the wife of Hazrat Ali (RA), she exemplified simplicity, sacrifice, and harmony in her household. As a mother, she nurtured Hazrat Hasan (RA) and Hazrat Husayn (RA) with values and principles that continue to serve as a guiding light for the Muslim Ummah.
Maulana Ghazali also underscored her simple lifestyle grinding grain with her own hands, spending nights in worship, and prioritizing the needs of others over her own as timeless lessons in selflessness and devotion. He urged women, particularly in today’s challenging times, to follow her noble example in order to foster peace within their homes and righteousness in society.
The conference concluded with a collective supplication seeking unity for the Muslim Ummah, lasting peace in the Kashmir Valley, harmony within families, and guidance for the youth. The gathering ended on an emotional note as the congregation echoed “Ameen,” with many participants moved to tears.
Organizers encouraged attendees to continue reflecting on the life and teachings of Fatimah (RA) throughout Ramadan and to strengthen their faith through prayer, contemplation, and righteous deeds.(CNS)
