Srinagar: The Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) has been closed for vehicular movement following landslides, shooting stones, and mudslides at several locations along the route.
According to traffic authorities, heavy rains in the region have triggered the landslides, making travel unsafe. Restoration work is currently underway, but continuous falling debris is hampering clearance operations.
Meanwhile, the Mughal Road, SSG Road, and Sinthan Top continue to remain closed due to heavy snow accumulation, cutting off alternate routes between Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
Officials have advised commuters and transporters not to travel on these roads until they are fully restored and declared safe for movement.
Traffic Department has urged the public to stay updated through official advisories before planning any travel on mountain routes.
