Tehran: Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence has announced the arrest of seven individuals, including three operatives allegedly linked to Israel’s Mossad and four members of Takfiri tarror!sts groups, following a series of coordinated security operations across multiple provinces.
According to an official statement released on Thursday, intelligence forces conducted targeted raids that led to the dismantling of espionage and militant networks operating within the country. Authorities revealed that the detained Mossad-linked individuals had been recruited through encrypted Telegram channels and were tasked with collecting sensitive information about military installations, particularly in Semnan province, a strategic defense zone.
In a parallel operation, one Takfiri tarror!sts was apprehended in Golestan province, where he was reportedly involved in covert recruitment activities. Three more suspects affiliated with similar extremist factions were arrested in Sistan and Baluchistan, as part of ongoing efforts to neutralize terrorist threats in the region.
Security forces also seized significant quantities of weapons and ammunition during the crackdown. In Isfahan, four firearms along with a large cache of ammunition were recovered, while in Kermanshah, authorities uncovered 3,560 rounds of ammunition concealed in a hidden compartment.
The ministry further disclosed that assets belonging to individuals associated with “Iran International,” described as an Israeli-backed media outlet, were confiscated in Mazandaran and East Azerbaijan provinces. Additionally, properties linked to two alleged operatives based in Canada and the United Kingdom were seized in Hamadan.
In a separate development, Iranian authorities confirmed the execution of Amir Hossein Hatami, who had been convicted of setting fire to a military facility in Tehran during unrest earlier this year. Officials stated that Hatami had intended to access weapons to aid in destabilizing the government, though his attempt was unsuccessful.
The arrests and seizures come amid heightened tensions following recent military escalations involving the United States and Israel. Iranian officials say such operations are part of broader efforts to safeguard national security and counter foreign-backed destabilization attempts.
