Bandipora, July 01: The Intensive Diarrhea Control Programme (IDCP) today commenced across the Bandipora district, aimed at combatting the spread of diarrheal diseases and enhancing community health.
In Bandipora, the programme was inaugurated by Block Medical Officer (BMO) Bandipora at Government Middle School Aragam while as BMO Gurez inaugurated the programme at Government Middle School Markoot.
Under the IDCP, field functionaries from the health department, alongside teams from the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) and Asha workers, have commenced activities across every locality of the district. These efforts include the distribution of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) and zinc sachets, crucial for treating and preventing dehydration caused by diarrhea. Additionally, Asha workers conducted demonstrations on proper handwashing techniques and the preparation of ORS, emphasizing hygiene practices essential for disease prevention.
