Srinagar, : Weather has taken a sharp turn within few days as entire Jammu and Kashmir is facing hot and humid conditions and there is no respite in offing for a couple of days.
The day temperature difference between two capital cities Srinagar and Jammu was less than four degrees today.
Srinagar city recorded temperature at 34.8 degrees Celsius whereas in Jammu the temperature was recorded at 38.2 degrees Celsius. But this was not the case when the month of June started as most of the parts of Jammu and Kashmir were witnessing rains and temperature remained below normal. People were wearing woollens in Kashmir valley and Chenab valley whereas in Jammu things were moving without the usage of fans.
But for past few days, summer has shown its true colours and temperature has increased all over.
Now, people of Jammu plains are expecting monsoon to hit the area and Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rain in Jammu plains whereas in Kashmir valley there are isolated chances of rain.
The IMD spokesperson said that for tomorrow it is expected dry weather in Srinagar and temperature will remain around 35 Degree Celsius whereas in Jammu it will mostly cloudy with chances of light rain.
According to Srinagar based IMD, Srinagar recorded 34.8 degrees temperature, Qazigund recorded 34.6, Pahalgam 29.3, Kupwara 33.7, Kokernag 32.7, Gulmarg 26, Jammu 38.2, Banihal 31.5, Batote 29.4, Katra 34 and Bhaderwah 33.6.
