Srinagar: The Chief Minister J&K, Omar Abdullah on Wednesday interacted with religious leaders and members of civil society in Srinagar to discuss the evolving situation in West Asia and its impact on public sentiment in Jammu & Kashmir.
During the meeting, participants expressed deep concern over the recent developments in the region and conveyed their condolences over the loss of lives in Iran. They emphasized the need for unity, restraint, and responsible public discourse during this sensitive time.
The Chief Minister acknowledged the concerns raised by the participants and highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and communal harmony across Jammu & Kashmir. He stressed that while people have the right to express grief and solidarity, such expressions should remain peaceful and responsible.
Reiterating the administration’s commitment to safeguarding stability in the Union Territory, the Chief Minister urged religious and community leaders to play a constructive role in guiding the public and ensuring that the prevailing atmosphere of peace and brotherhood is preserved.
