Bandipura, March 17: In preparation for the Lok Sabha Elections-2024, Bandipura District Magistrate/District Election Officer (DM/DEO) Shakeelur Rahman on Sunday issued an order, in which the territorial boundaries of the district All printing presses in authority have been directed Bandipora shall clearly display the name and address of the printer and publisher on any election pamphlets, posters, or similar materials.
As per Order No. 31-DEO/Bpr of 2024 dated 16th March 2024, this instruction is in accordance with Section 127A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, and follows the instructions set out in para 5 (1) (a). (b), and (c) letter No. 3/9/(ES00S)/94-J.S.II dated September 2, 1994 from the Election Commission of India.
Additional ly, these printing presses are required to submit copies of the printed material, three additional copies each, and the necessary declaration obtained from the publisher under section 127A(2) to the office of the District Election Officer within three days of Printing.
Furthermore, the owners/operators of these printing presses are reminded that any violation of the provisions of Section 127A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 and the above instructions of the Election Commission of India will be seriously considered. In appropriate cases, this may result in the cancellation of the license of the printing press.
