Naidkhai, May 05: National Conference senior leader and Sonawari constituency in-charge, Hilal Akbar Lone, asserted on Sunday that J&K has aligned with Gandhi’s India rather than Modi’s India.
He made these statements during a party convention held at his residence in Naidkhai.
Lone strongly criticized opposition parties for compromising their stance on Article 370, emphasizing his commitment to advocating for its restoration, irrespective of the circumstances. “I have faced pressure during my time in jail not to discuss the removal of Article 370, but I persisted, and I will continue to do so in the future,” he affirmed.
He further endorsed Omar Abdullah as the sole leader capable of representing the people of J&K in parliament and urged party workers to cast their votes in large numbers to secure his victory in the upcoming election.
Lone stressed that this election is not about development but about defending the respect which is at stake. “This time, people will not vote for roads or electricity but for the restoration of rights that were illegally snatched,” he said.
