Srinagar, August 10: After the national Assembly of Pakistan was dissolved by President Arif Alvi on the recommendations of Prime Minsiter Shebaz Sharif, the race for caretaker PM has intensified.
Few names which are doing rounds in the political circles are former Army Chief Raheel Sharif, former Finance Minister Hafeez Sheikh and former foreign secretary Jalil Abbas Jeelani.
According to media reports of Pakistan, outgoing PM Shebaz Sharif will be meeting outgoing leader of opposition Raja Riaz to deliberate on appointing the caretaker government and PM.
It has been learnt that Pakistani establishment wants former Army Chief Raheel Sharif to be appointed as caretaker PM whereas politicians may opt for Jalil Abbas Jeelani.
After the dissolution of the national Assembly general elections are to be held in 60 days as the government has completed its five-year term.
