KU’s Centre for Career Counselling earns feather in its cap, 11 candidates qualify JKAS exam

Srinagar: As many as 11 candidates associated with the Centre for Career Counselling, Coaching and Placement (CCCP) of the University of Kashmir (KU) have qualified the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) examination.

The results of Civil Service Examination—2024 was declared by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) on Friday and names 90 candidates were recommended for mandatory medical examination to determine their suitability for appointment against the advertised vacancies.

The successful candidates figured in the selection list announced by the commission for the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE), marking a significant achievement for the university’s coaching and mentoring centre.

As per the official figures, the candidates from the CCCP who qualified the prestigious examination include Dawood Bin Salam (Rank 11), Syed Zeeshan Nisar (Rank 14), Mir Mujeeb (Rank 24), Aamir Hassan (Rank 26), Muhtashim Ishaq (Rank 29), Faizan-ul-Haq (Rank 30), Aarif-ul-Asad (Rank 35), Naveed Shareef (Rank 72), Khalid Bashir (Rank 70), Talib Zargar (Rank 80) and Imtiyaz Poswal (Rank 89).

Vice Chancellor KU, Prof Nilofer Khan, congratulated the successful candidates and lauded their dedication and commitment towards public service. She appreciated the efforts of the CCCP team for creating a supportive ecosystem of mentorship, guidance and academic assistance for civil services aspirants.

She also acknowledged the role of Director CCCP Nazir Ahmad Dar, Deputy Director Yahya Bakhtiyar, Program coordinator and faculty member CCCP Ms Fatimah Ali and other coordinators of the centre for mentoring students and guiding them through the competitive examination process.

Registrar KU Prof. Naseer Iqbal, also congratulated the successful candidates and appreciated the sustained efforts of the CCCP faculty members and mentors associated with the centre for supporting aspirants preparing for competitive examinations.

The Vice Chancellor further acknowledged the role of the CCCP overviewing committee including Ms Fatimah Ali , Prof. Mohammad Sultan Bhat, Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad Zarri and Ms Zafirah Bashir for their guidance and coordination with the university administration in strengthening the programme.

Meanwhile the overviewing committee also congratulated the selected candidates and appreciated the collective efforts of the CCCP team whose mentoring and support contributed to the achievement.

Established in 2004, the Centre for Career Planning and Counselling (CCPC) at KU plays a pivotal role in empowering youth by offering comprehensive career guidance, coaching for competitive examinations, skill development, and placement support.

The Centre supports both enrolled university students and aspirants from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds across J&K.

“The success reflects the combined efforts of the University administration and the oversight committee besides the mentoring team of the centre in guiding and nurturing talented candidates from diverse backgrounds,” an official said.

“CCCP would continue its efforts to empower students, enhance career opportunities and guide aspirants towards excellence in competitive examinations and public service,” the official said—(KNO)
