Mumbai: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, participating in the Tata Mumbai Marathon on Sunday, combined political commentary with personal nostalgia, recalling his formative years in the city while stating the electoral responsibility now vested in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Following the marathon, an event promoting fitness and community spirit, CM Omar Abdullah addressed the media. He stated that Mumbai’s development trajectory had become the BJP’s obligation after the party’s performance in the recent Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections.
“The BJP secured the maximum number of seats. It thus becomes their responsibility to ensure the progress of Mumbai,” the J&K Chief Minister said. “The people of Mumbai have given them this chance, and they now carry a major responsibility to fulfil the residents’ expectations.”
Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah said I spent three years in Mumbai as a college student. “When I was here for my studies, one would never have imagined, even in dreams, that the city would one day have infrastructure projects on the scale of the Coastal Road,” he said, highlighting the dramatic evolution in Mumbai’s urban landscape since his youth.
